I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! 🏕️
“Come camping,” they said…
Some of us slept better than others last night, but we all woke to the sound of donkey bells and a glorious Himalayan sunrise. With a few aching muscles and a breakfast of toast and peanut butter to fuel us, we were soon back on our feet and ready for another day on the trail.

Into the Mountains
Our morning route took us up and out through a small mountain village, climbing steadily into the lush green hills. The forests here are much denser and greener than we expected — waterfalls cascade down the rocks, and everywhere the sound of running water and birdsong fills the air.
The villagers are so kind and curious. The children run alongside us, waving and laughing — probably wondering who these odd strangers in trekking gear might be!
We even had the privilege of being invited into the home of one of our guides. A short rest, a warm cup of chai, and their kind smiles gave us just the lift we needed before pressing on.

The Bridge of Doom
Our route soon descended back into the valley, where we came face to face with what we’ve now fondly named “the bridge of doom.”
One bridge had already collapsed, and the other looked… let’s say, well-loved. Just a few iron threads and a lot of faith were holding it together. We were allowed to cross one at a time, and as it wobbled and swayed beneath our feet, we couldn’t help but feel like contestants on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
Each successful crossing was met with cheers and laughter — equal parts relief and disbelief that we were still standing.
⸻
A Perfect Lunch Stop
Our reward came soon after — a stunning lunch spot by the river, surrounded by boulders and meadow grass. Some brave souls stripped off and plunged into the icy mountain water.
Wim Hof would be proud of us
Well… most of us.
Kirsten took one look, muttered a few choice words about the temperature, and wisely decided to stay dry.

The Long Climb Up
The afternoon brought a steep and steady climb up the mountain — long, hot, and tough. But what made it bearable was the chatter and camaraderie within the group. We shared stories, snacks, and laughter as we pushed each other onward, step by step.
What a wonderful mix of people — each with their own reasons for being here, but all sharing the same goal: to climb the Himalayas.
Can we do it? We’ll see. But after today, we’re more determined than ever.

P.S. Achievement of the Day
Only three of us fell over today — a marked improvement!
